Lawrence is 6' 4" of beautiful guitar. He has written the music for many of the Charlies finest tunes such as
- L.I.D.
- Moonlight and Roses
- Stray Street
- You Are Mad
I first met Big Larry at school but I didn't really know him there.It was a couple of years later that I decided to form a rockabilly band and I asked him to be the lead guitarist - the begining of a beautiful friendship.
I had bought my first electric guitar (a black Kay Les Paul) copy from Larry a while before, I met him in the street a few days later and he gleefully informed me that he had spent the 40 quid I gave him on a SG copy which he obviously considered a vastly superior instrument - But It Wisnae!!!
Anyhow Lawrence was a much better lead player than me. He had a careful studied style which perfectly counterbalanced my somewhat frantic and loose rythmn playing.
